The Edinburgh Landmarks exhibition has just finished at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital and we decided to create a small publication to celebrate the creativity of the participants. Each of the people who took part in the exhibition received a copy as a thank you for taking part, as most were not able to see their work on display in the exhibition, they all loved it and so do we. View a selection of works, as well as the publication itself.
Next in the Link Gallery is an exhibition of drawings by Albert Nicolson. A series of beautiful line drawings of hats created in Artlink workshops at the R.E.H. Some of you may remember them from the Mark Dion exhibition at the Talbot Rice Gallery in 2014 as part of Ever Present Past.
We are also talking to Hans K Clausen, Hospital Exhibitions Manager, Tonic Arts Programme about developing another exhibition to go into the REH. Watch this space.
Thursday 25th June 3-5pm – Picnic area to the rear of the Glasshouses, REH
Come along and sing along, come along and listen, enjoy the flowers and the sunshine. (if it rains we’ll sing in the glasshouses and we’ll still get to enjoy singing with the flowers without getting too wet!)
Groups, individuals and children all welcome.
There will be songs that we’ll all sing together, the Royal Edinburgh’s very own Heart and Soul Singsters will perform a song or two, the lovely Come All Ye group of singers from the Scots Music Group are bringing some songs to sing for us. Any other choirs are invited to perform a song or two as well – all songs are welcome, but if they’re on a flowery-festivally-summery theme all the better!
Enjoy the garden crafts made in the Green and crafty workshops which will located throughout the gardens. Plants will be on sale.
Free Refreshments will provided or BYO picnic hamper and blanket.
And if you want to rehearse before the big event come along to the singing group on Tuesday 3-4pm at the Glasshouses.
